Jake Gyllenhaal gets flirty with some women on the dance floor, Alec Baldwin breaks down a bit during his speech to NYU grads, and Shia LaBeouf is the latest star to land at the Cannes Film Festival. Plus, the new Eclipse goodies!

The stars gathered in Washington DC on Saturday night for the White House Correspondents' Dinner, where Jay Leno served as the evening's entertainment when President Obama wasn't cracking up the crowd himself. Jessica Simpson hit the red carpet in a bright yellow dress, while Scarlett Johansson arrived from LA with her politically active twin brother, Hunter. Jessica Alba wrapped up her duties as a Tribeca Film Festival juror to go with her husband Cash Warren, and Kim Kardashian wore her mother's vintage Valentino gown after deciding to put her hair up in a bun.

After the dinner were the post-parties, with the Bloomberg/Vanity Fair bash at the French Ambassador's residence bringing out celebs like Anna Kendrick and Glee's Matthew Morrison. Joe Simpson left Jessica's side to mingle with Jeremy Renner, who was linked to Jess just a few months ago. Jessica expressed her love for Michelle Obama but didn't have much to say about her current romantic status, commenting, "I have some situations that I am feeling out." She moved on to an event sponsored by People to join Gabourey Sidibe. Sex and the City 2's Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon, meanwhile, posed together, while Justin Bieber caught up with "his girlfriend" Kim. Jessica managed to avoid a run-in with her ex Tony Romo, who got a head start on the good times Friday night at an event with his girlfriend Candice Crawford and her famous brother, Chace.

The stars of Date Night hit the red carpet in NYC yesterday for their big East coast premiere. Steve Carell was the first to arrive, and he hopped out of his car and made sure to sign autographs for the many waiting fans. Tina Fey was next up looking gorgeous in her LBD, while Leighton Meester went for something a little outside the box with her fringed multi-colored pick. Tina told us that she loved filming a scene when her costar Mark Wahlberg was shirtless so much that she demanded retakes, and as for her ideal night, she and husband Jeff Richmond just try to leave the house. Special guest Hugh Jackman, though, said his preferred romantic evening involves skinny dipping on Sydney's Bondi Beach - which he followed up with a sexy wink! The stars headed inside the Zeigfeld theater for more photos and then to the afterparty, which brought out fellow comedian Ben Stiller. There's lots more from the screening to come, so stay tuned for this afternoon's PopSugar Rush!

82nd Annual Academy Awards - Governor's Ball

Okay, so a few weeks ago Mike Walker, the National Enquirer’s resident gossip columnist, wrote a little piece about how Alec Baldwin had yelled at Tina Fey while they were filming a scene for 30 Rock or something. I can’t find the piece online, but I believe that Walker probably reported something like that. I mean, is it such a stretch? Alec Baldwin is a angry, intemperate man. He could conceivably yell at Tina, although I think she would probably yell right back. And she would probably punch him too. And it would all go down in a gossip column somewhere. Anyway, Alec heard about the gossip column, and he decided to take Mike Walker to task, calling him a “whore” and a “queen”. Walker is threatening retaliation against “homophobic” Alec, in print. So Alec decided to one-up him, by doubling down on the insult: “Yes, he [Walker] is a goat-footed, wheezy, old queen, and all my male lovers agree with me.” Here’s more:

Alec Baldwin, who once had a feud with Page Six — we made up — is now at war with Mike Walker of the National Enquirer. The day before he co-hosted the Oscars, Baldwin — angry at Walker for reporting he’d screamed at Tina Fey on the set of “30 Rock” — told the Times of London the veteran columnist was a “whore” and a “queen.”

Walker vents in this week’s Enquirer: “Here’s my headline: ‘Alec Baldwin — Raging Closet HOMOPHOBE!’ Grab your pitchforks and torches, Hollywood — the monster lurks among ye!”

Baldwin, who says he never screamed at Fey, doesn’t seem to be afraid of a gay backlash. He told us yesterday, “Yes, he [Walker] is a goat-footed, wheezy, old queen, and all my male lovers agree with me.”

Walker states, “Just for the record: I am not gay, as my wife will attest. Right honey? . . . HONEY?? Hey Alec: Stay tuned.”

I mean, yes, this is funny. This makes me like Alec a little. “Goat-footed, wheezy old queen” is almost poetry. But it also underlines the simple point that Alec is a crazy, angry, intemperate bastard. And you should never pick fights with gossip columnists. Especially over something so trivial, like a random report that you yelled at Tina Fey. Unless, of course, there was truth to it and Alec didn’t like that. Hmm…?

82nd Annual Academy Awards - Governor's Ball

Alec Baldwin leaving the Time Warner building New York City

The Governors Ball was the first stop for many of the winners and presenters after last night's Oscars ceremony. Best actress Sandra Bullock went from chatting about her award in the press room to the afterparty, where she shared a special moment with her supportive husband, Jesse James. Maggie Gyllenhaal didn't claim a statue for Crazy Heart, but she continued the family evening by joining her mother Naomi Foner for a bite. Barbara Streisand cuddled up to Gerard Butler, while Diane Kruger brought her Chanel gown from the red carpet to the ball.

Oprah Winfrey joined Gabourey Sidibe after her touching introduction during the best supporting actress presentation. Zoe Saldana stayed in her voluminous dress, which led the way for the evening's slitty trend. Neil Patrick Harris, meanwhile, relaxed with David Burtka after his amazing opening number. Sigourney Weaver was happy to let her hair down with Anna Kendrick despite Avatar's not winning best picture, but Kathryn Bigelow and screenwriter Mark Boal were thrilled their film The Hurt Locker took home the accolade.
