Latest Gossip From Around the World
The Jolie-Pitts skipped Sunday's Oscars, where Brad's Inglourious Basterds costars arrived turned out in force, instead staying in Venice to have family time with their kids. They kicked off the fun that afternoon with a children's birthday bash, and yesterday they brought out Pax and Maddox for a fun park day along with Shiloh and Zahara - click through to see the party of six in action!
I missed some of these photos when I wrote on Sunday (correctly) that Brad and Angelina weren’t going to be attending the Oscars. Instead of flying to LA for Hollywood’s biggest night, the Brangelina gang (minus the gerbils and the twins) went to a birthday party. It seems like the party was thrown by Angelina’s Tourist director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck for one of his three kids. Judging solely from the photos, it does seem like the kids - especially Shiloh, who seems to have taken a special liking to van Donnersmarck, who is holding her in these photos - had a good time. Don’t judge the day by Empress Zahara’s fabulous little bitchface. She’s throwing that “I’ll shank you” look to the paparazzi. Her look says it all - “You a-holes can’t even let me enjoy some birthday cake?”
Meanwhile here’s Shiloh, looking adorable. I think von Donnersmarck must be tickling her. I’m wanting to start a new rumor… not about Angelina and Johnny Depp, but about Angelina and her director. He seems like he loves kids, and that’s what Angelina likes!

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie aren't joining the rest of Hollywood getting red carpet ready for today's Oscars. Instead the duo were spotted in Venice, Italy, bringing Shiloh, Zahara, and Pax to a kids' birthday party. Brad's Inglourious Basterds costars will be out for the big show and also partied together at the Weinstein bash last night. Instead, it was a family afternoon for the Jolie-Pitts, where Shiloh showed off her talked-about short haircut out with her big brother and sister. Even without Brad and Angelina being the showstoppers they were last year, the Academy Awards is the biggest evening of the season, and we're on it all day long!

There have been rumors swirling about a possible Brad Pitt Oscar appearance for several weeks now. Initially, the reports were about Angelina and Brad both attending the Oscars to “fight the rumors” of their alleged breakup/relationship trouble. But it was quickly established that Angelina would be filming in Europe around Oscar time, so she wouldn’t be coming. After that, many outlets wondered aloud if Brad would make a solo appearance, especially given that his film, Inglourious Basterds, was up for several awards, including Best Picture.
I kind of hoped it was true, that Brad would show up and present something big, but he’s not going to. These photos are of Angelina and Brad in Venice today. Unless he’s got a plane that travels at the speed of light, he’s not coming. Which kind of sucks. He was part of one of the best films of the year, and he should come out to support it, in my opinion. I mean, I get that he’s kind of “over it” at this point - “it” being all of the Hollywood stuff, I guess. But still!
By the way, I’m so over the beard, it’s not even funny. I had to find an older photo of Brad sans goat beard just to write about this:
Sigh… that’s a little bit better.
