At least, that's what the fitness video company, Speedfit, is claiming that the pop princess is doing by barring the release of her exercise DVD. She worked with the video company during the time she was getting all skinny and stuff for her role in "The Dukes of Hazzard."

However, she changed her tune after the video was shot and allegedly decided to block the sale of the video through her management, i.e. her dad. The owner of Speedfit, Alex Astilean is now suing Joe Simpson over the fracas and has told Us Weekly, "They are hurting millions of fat people in America! I believe that very strongly -- they held the video for years!"

Jessica seems to be to blame for a lot this year that one would normally assume had absolutely nothing to do with her--the Dallas Cowboys playing poorly, making America obese. I hate to point fingers, y'all, but I'm staring to suspect she shot JFK.

Before Jessica filmed “The Dukes of Hazzard,” her only mildly successful movie role to date, she starred in a fitness DVD that has never been released. That’s because the starlet/singer changed her mind about doing the video, and asked her dad/manager Joe Simpson to negate the contract. Now, the video fitness company Speedfit, for whom Jessica made the DVD, is suing Joe Simpson for blocking its release.

Jessica Simpson’s father (and manager) Joe is being sued by fitness video company Speedfit for allegedly blocking the sale of a DVD starring his daughter.

After signing a multi-million dollar contract, Jessica, 27, recorded a workout tape for Speedfit shortly before shooting her role as Daisy Duke in 2005’s The Dukes of Hazzard.

Jessica then changed her mind about doing the tape and her father Joe banned its release, Speedfit claims.

Now Speedfit owner Alex Astilean has filed suit against Joe after failing to secure a $10 million settlement from his daughter last year.

The New York Post first reported news of the suit.

“They are hurting millions of fat people in America!” Astilean tells Usmagazine.com.

Somehow, I think the “fat people of America” will manage to carry on without a Jessica Simpson fitness DVD. Considering that Jessica works with celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak, I doubt that she could teach anything new in the way of fitness techniques anyway. However, if Jessica received millions for doing the video, it doesn’t seem fair that she should collect the money and then stop Speedfit from making any money off it. It also seems like Joe Simpson isn’t doing his daughter any favors lately managing her career. Her last movie tanked, her last CD got a lukewarm reception, and now she may be heading back to TV again to promote her country CD.

Note by Celebitchy: This is not the first time she’s been sued for failing to endorse a product. In the spring of 2006, a clothing line sued Simpson to the tune of $100 million for breach of contract. She signed a multi-year contract to endorse a range of low-prices jeans and clothing that was named after her, but she never wore the clothing out as promised and she name-dropped another designer when she was asked about her favorite jean label.

We all know Jessica Simpson is hard at work on her country album, but apparently she may have another — more familiar — project in the works: a reality TV show for CMT. Her father/manager Joe had this to say, "With Newlyweds, she let everyone into her world,. Then she had to shut the world out. Now she can open it up again so people can see, here's a girl struggling with self-esteem and finding her way. Country music is about storytelling, after all." I loved seeing Jess on Newlyweds, but we all know what that did to her personal life. So tell us, do you think it's a good idea for Jessica Simpson to make another reality TV show?

I guess life for Jessica Simpson just isn’t worth living unless she has a camera in her face. The singer, who starred in the hit reality show “Newlyweds” on MTV along with her then-husband Nick Lachey, is currently entertaining the idea of coming back to TV with a new show on Country Music Television (CMT). “Newlyweds” pretty much revived Jessica’s lukewarm singing career- at least for one album. But after the show ended, and Nick and Jessica divorced, her career went back in the crapper again. Now, with a new country album in the works, perhaps Joe - er, I mean Jessica - thinks she can boost interest with another show, but her rep insists that it is not a reality show.

Jessica Simpson may be returning to the small screen.

She is in talks with CMT to star in a special chronicling her life as she records her upcoming country album.

“We have had exploratory talks with Jessica’s camp, but nothing has been confirmed or signed,” a CMT rep tells Usmagazine.com.

Her rep tells Us it is “not for a reality show. Jessica is finishing her country album in Nashville. They’re in talks with CMT for a special timed to air when the album is released, but there’s no truth whatsoever to there being a reality show.”

Simpson, 27, rose to fame on her MTV reality series Newlyweds, which tracked her day-to-day married life with Nick Lachey.

In a recent interview, her father Joe hinted that a reality show may be in the works.

“With Newlyweds, she let everyone into her world,” her father Joe told Entertainment Weekly.

“Then she had to shut the world out. Now she can open it up again so people can see, here’s a girl struggling with self-esteem and finding her way. Country music is about storytelling, after all.”

Hey, guess what? I’m perfectly comfortable not being let into Jessica’s world. Papa Joe and his daughter’s rep need to talk, because they’re saying two different things. Is it or isn’t it a reality show? It sounds like the CMT program has a “reality show” component to it, something like that horrible documentary about Posh and Beckham coming to the U.S. Except, instead of Posh and Beckham, it’s that stupid twit Jessica, eating tuna and thinking it’s chicken.

Like I needed another reason not to watch Country Music Television.
